Physics Classroom is making strides to make our site accessible to everyone, and features many accessibility features.

Our site contains 6 navigation areas. The Primary, Secondary, and Page Level navigations have a screen reader version of their nav structure that allows using the left and right keys to navigate sibling navigation items, and up or down keys to navigate parent or child navigation items. The others can be navigated using tabs.

Within the main content, we leverage headers to provide in page or in tool navigation.

Although we are still rebuilding our content to leverage these tools, our images should have both short and verbose descriptions, the later describing in great detail the image for those who cannot see. Any formulas found within the images are often in the image figure below the image.

Equations and formulas are rendered using MathJax, which has both verbal, braille (including nemath braille), and keyboard navigation within them. Learn how to configure and leverage this for various screen readers on our Equation Navigation Page.

While not every area of Physics Classroom is usable purely from keyboard and screen reader, we are committed to continue work on making this possible. If you have questions or need additional help, please use this link to contact us .

Circular Motion and Satellite Motion

Photos from The Physics Classroom's Flickr Group

Lesson 1: Motion Characteristics for Circular Motion

Lesson 1 discusses the conceptual and mathematical aspects of various motion quantities (speed, velocity, acceleration and force) and their relationship to circular motion. Items in the group's pool include roller coaster loops, corkscrews and turns, air show pilots, motorcycle riders on curves, sprinters, and much more. Photos complement many of the discussions from Lesson 1 of the Circular Motion and Satellite Motion chapter of The Physics Classroom Tutorial.

Lesson 2: Applications of Circular Motion

Lesson 2 focuses on the application of Newton's second law to the analysis of situations involving objects moving in circles. Items in the group's pool include air show pilots, historic roller coasters, roller coaster loops and corkscrews, motorcyclists on turns and much more. Photos complement many of the discussions from Lesson 2 of the Circular Motion and Satellite Motion chapter of The Physics Classroom Tutorial.

Lesson 3: Universal Gravitation

Lesson 3 discusses the conceptual and mathematical aspects of Newton's law of universal gravitation. Items in the group's pool include statues of Newton, sketches of Newton, free falling objects, and (of course) apples. Photos complement many of the discussions from Lesson 3 of the Circular Motion and Satellite Motion chapter of The Physics Classroom Tutorial.

Lesson 4: Planetary and Satellite Motion

Lesson 4 discusses a variety of topics related to planetary and satellite motion, including Kepler's three laws, satellite motion mathematics, weightlessness and energy concepts. Items in the group's pool include occupants of NASA's vomit comet, solar system diagrams, roller coaster drops, sketches of Kepler, and much more. Photos complement many of the discussions from Lesson 4 of the Circular Motion and Satellite Motion chapter of The Physics Classroom Tutorial.
